A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure of photographing Nagu & Colm’s beautiful Hindu ceremony at the Sooke Harbour House. Their friends and family – and even their priest – came from all over Canada to be with them on their special day. Hindu weddings are supposed to take place outside under a canopy and that’s exactly how they were married – on an amazingly gorgeous bright sunny day! The event was a magical feast for the eyes. Hindu ceremonies vary from celebration to celebration and Nagu & Colm chose several traditional elements – including Sanskrit verses, a fire ceremony and ‘Saptapadi’ or seven steps. When it came time for the ring exchange, they chose to honour Colmn’s Irish ancestry with beautiful Celtic bands. Nagu & Colm are an extremely nice couple and all of their friends and family were so welcoming and happy. These two look so good in photographs that it was very difficult to choose just a few highlights for our blog. Congratulations Nagu & Colmn – we felt privileged to be a part of your day!
